Slim Gaming - Airport CEO

Image
Well, after a three-year hiatus, it’s finally time to return to my Slim Gaming series, where I review games from the viewpoint of running them on a weaker machine. I have long since sold my trusty old MacBook Air, and am now running a pretty decent 2017 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, however this still isn’t much of a gaming machine, especially when it comes to running all-time favourites of mine, such as Cities Skylines. It does however run a number of other gems, and in this article, I’ll be taking a look at one of my current favourites:  Airport CEO Now, as I’ve stated a few times on this blog, I’m a plane nut. Some people also say I’m plain nuts, but I’ll leave that to you to decide. Anyway, I’ve had jet fuel running through my veins ever since I was a little boy, and while aircraft of all shapes and sizes are certainly interesting, I’ve always found airports as such much more fascinating. I’ve lost count of how many hours I spent at numerous airports of all shapes and sizes, from Kla

The Final Piece - Blogger.com Update Complete

Back in February 2020, I published an article on this blog outlining how Google was finally beginning to update blogger.com to bring it up to speed with today’s standards. Crucially though for mobile device users, the actual editor itself remained stuck in 2011, something that I called out in my blog post back in February. Looks like the Blogger.com product team at Google finally got around to updating the Editor and bringing it up to modern standards. Finally, editing a post on iPad is possible without a magnifying glass! All the functions are still there as well, easily accessible, even on mobile devices. Adding captions can still be a bit finicky, but it’s a lot more comfortable than in the old editor. This also finally means a dynamic and responsive layout that adapts to the device it is being used on, meani

Sonos Play:1 - The little Speaker that could!

We’ve all done it – Impulse purchases that, while not triggering buyer’s remorse, didn’t really get all as much usage as we would have thought. I’ve done it more than once, and some have only really started to see much use due to the current COVID-19 lockdown that has half the planet hunkering down at home. With said lockdown looking like it’s going to last for quite a while longer, I thought it would be a good idea to show off some of the tech that’s keeping me sane while working from home, insofar as that’s still possible. My first bit of what you could call “Corona Kit” is a Sonos Play:1, a connected speaker. This thing is what could best be described as a planned impulse purchase. I’d been planning to get another Sonos speaker for quite some time, after winning my first one in a workplace competition back in 2018, but between job changes and other turbulences, it wasn’t until back in September 2019 that I finally made my move, in a rather rash decision. I had initially wanted to g
